As a professional Personal Trainer and Counsellor, my passion is to encourage people towards a healthier and happier lifestyle. I recognise the importance of looking after both physical and mental wellbeing, and work with you as an individual to combine exercise routines with the opportunity for talking therapy to help you deal with anxiety, stress, and barriers to motivation for exercise.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Kathy Kingdon, and I'm passionate about physical and psychological health and wellbeing. 

I'm a qualified Personal Trainer and Counsellor. Read more about my qualifications here
I've worked with clients of all ages,
from a variety of backgrounds, with a wide range of issues, and understand the importance of being able to talk to somebody empathic and non-judgemental. 

I've always enjoyed working out at the gym, and love running - on my own or competing in races. I'm based in Bristol, with many scenic places to run or walk right on my doorstep, or in the beautiful Forest of Dean. 

My own experiences showed me that the benefits of exercise weren't just physical - it's how I deal with life's stresses, and I want to help other people experience those benefits.

ABOUT BODY AND MIND COMBINED

The aim of Body and Mind Combined is to guide individuals towards a greater sense of physical and psychological wellbeing. Everybody is unique, with their own strengths and limitations. My method is to build a customised plan based on your health, schedule and fitness goals. To help you achieve your goals, we can talk about any barriers to exercise. My studio is in Bradley Stoke, Bristol, easily accessible from the M4/M5 junction.

I'm here to listen if you feel anxious or stressed, and also offer Walk and Talk sessions, in Bristol and across the Severn Bridge and into the beautiful Forest of Dean. Don't worry if you prefer a gentle stroll to a hike, we walk at your pace. The aim is to enjoy your surroundings, and the opportunity to talk.

APPROACH

What makes Body and Mind Combined different?

Many people find motivation hard, and I can support you with this, and be with you every step of your journey, so that you realise your potential and discover that you can actually enjoy exercising. Many of us have barriers to exercise - you understand them, you can overcome them.

I take a whole self approach - we need to work with your body and your mind. This is where having the right person to support, encourage and challenge you is vital. Everything that we talk about is strictly confidential, whether in personal training, talking therapy, or Walk and Talk sessions, so you can feel safe to discuss any issues with me. It's also important to find exercise that is right for you and that you enjoy, so we work to find exercise that fits you!

MAKING FITNESS FUN

Exercise should be fun! It's not all about repetitive exercises in a gym, it's about doing things that make you happy!

And it's not all about being the best, either - I want to show that age and ability don't have to be a barrier. You might be surprised at what you can achieve when you get the right encouragement.

My aim is to build variety into your routines, improve your fitness levels and your confidence, so that physical activity not only becomes a normal part of your everyday life, but something that enhances your enjoyment of life.
